I may be interested in becoming a Catholic as an adult. What is the first step?

If you are interested in becoming a Catholic as an adult, the first step is to contact the Parish Office and express your interest in joining the Catholic faith. Here are some possible steps to take:

  1. Attend Mass at your local Catholic parish. This is a great way to familiarise yourself with the Catholic liturgy, meet members of the community, and learn more about the faith.
  2. Speak with the priest or parish office. You can contact your local Catholic parish office to schedule a meeting with the priest or someone else on staff to discuss your interest in becoming Catholic. Our office hours are 9:30am to 2 pm Tues – Fri, Tel: 074 952 1008  email:[email protected]
  3. Enroll in the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) program. RCIA is a program designed for adults who are interested in becoming Catholic. It typically includes classes on the Catholic faith, opportunities for spiritual growth, and preparation for the sacraments of initiation (Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist).
  4. Begin your journey of faith. Becoming Catholic is a personal and spiritual journey. Along the way, you may want to seek guidance from the priest or a spiritual director, attend retreats or other events, and participate in the life of the parish community.

Remember, becoming Catholic is a process, not an event. The Catholic Church welcomes those who are interested in exploring the faith and joining the community. Don’t hesitate to reach out to your local Catholic parish for guidance and support on this journey.

I would like my child to be baptised

You can find out everything you need to get your Child Baptised by going to our Sacraments page

I would like to attend Mass, but am afraid my baby/toddler may become restless. Would we be made welcome?

Absolutely, you and your child would be more than welcome to attend Mass at our parish! We understand that children can become restless  during Mass, and we want to assure you that it is completely normal and we encourage families to bring their children to Mass.

Here are some tips to help make attending Mass with your baby or toddler a positive experience:

Come prepared. Bring snacks, toys, and other items to keep your child entertained and comfortable during Mass. You may also want to bring a nappy bag with all the necessary items you may need.

Sit near the back of the church. This can make it easier to step out if your child needs a break or is making noise.

Don’t worry about your child making noise. We understand that young children can be noisy and restless during Mass. Our community is welcoming and understanding, so please don’t feel self-conscious if your child cries, talks, or makes noise during Mass.
